Steps in the right direction to Ghana

Hi, for those of you who dont know I am going to Ghana, Africa to teach third grade. I am orgionally from Chicago. This blog is going to hopefully help you follow my journey to Ghana and while I am there. I just graduated from Cedarville University as an Early Childhood Education Major. In this blog I am going to update you, tell stories, share what I am learning, and prayer request. I hope you enjoy reading about my journey to teaching in Ghana.

This week I have been in Mississippi at Pre-Field Orientation. It is very much a learning experience. Comming into this week I really didnt know what I was getting myself into going to Ghana. I really had no ideal what I was going to be doing. I just knew that I would be learning a lot about who I am and how it would be in Ghana. Today we talked about transitions from going from the United States to Ghana. I realized that this is going to be one of the hardest things. Just thinking about how difficult it is going to be to say goodbye to my dad and the rest of my family almost had me in tears. Knowing that I can't come home for birthdays or Thanksgiving is going to be really hard because those are such big family holidays. Everyday I am learning more about who I am without my family and without my friends but who I am in Christ. I have some amazing people and I have heard some amazing stories about how they have gotten to NICs. Each day I learn more about why I am called to Ghana and what impact I may have in Ghana with my class.

I have some prayer request:

I am getting a lot of one time gifts which I appreciate so much but I still need to raise about $300 more a month.
